Fall Blossoms – DIY Statement Necklace

PicMonkey Collage2

I’m still digesting the fashion shows from Fall 2014 but when I came across the Fendi and Dries Van Noten collections I couldn’t help but have a slight tinge of deja vu and thus the the #tbt DIY post was born.

Although this DIY was originally born after seeing the Marni x H&M Collaboration of 2012, the merchandise then and the lush floral  micro trend for 2014 are at least distant cousins.  Check out the extremely easy steps below and don’t forget to check back for my Fall 2014 Trend Round-up next week.

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • White Orchid Stem
  • Needle Nose Pliers
  • Wire Cutters
  • E-6000
  • Chain
  • Cord End Caps
WHAT TO DO:
  • Remove excess stem
  • Take cord end caps and attach to either end of orchid cluster.  Add a dab of glue of extra security if you need it.  With my caps I had to squeeze either end around the stem tightly so glue wasn’t needed.
  • Attach chain to caps
  • Wear out
