Shades of March

Although Spring may be far from us March has arrived and so have the fruits and veggies of the season.  Keeping your wedding within your budget may seem impossible, lord knows once I started tallying up all my ideas the grand total for our wedding followed suit, but fortunately one of the easiest ways to keep down the cost is sticking with whats in season for your all your floral needs.  Another big way to save…thinking outside the box.  Put those two concepts together and before you know it your wedding theme will unfold before your eyes and if you happen to be planning March nuptials then let me introduce to the colorful and fun strawberry.

Using the plant as part or all of your bouquet is a great, nontraditional idea and the punchy color story it evokes is perfect for warming up the mood since many associate the fruit with warmer months.  Although most of this inspirations fares on the side of rustic, don’t be discouraged if you are opting for a modern affair.  Using the strawberry plant in your centerpieces or bouquets and taking from the lovely color story is an easy place to start in tailoring this inspiration to your needs.  Instead of sending guests home with homemade strawberry jam why not offer your guests a make and take chocolate dipped strawberry station complete with fun toppings like colored sugar crystals and chic take home boxes.

The possibilities are endless and in colder spring months like this and your guests will appreciate the vibrant inspiration that will take them to a warmer time of the year.
